Airplane ride to Washington

While we were waiting on the plane for take off, Kaden says, "Did our space ship blast off yet?" He was serious too :0)

Then, once we did "blast off," He looked out the window and said, "I see TOYS!!"

A Million Dollars!!

Parker was SO excited that the T.V. dinner he picked out said he had a CHANCE to win a MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!! He peeked inside the box and said, "Oh, I did not win a million dollars, but I got .75 cents off!!" Referring to the coupon inside for .75 cents off more T.V. dinners :-)

Seminary

This is Austin's first year to go to seminary. Seminary is an early morning church class for grades 9-12. His class starts at 5:45am. He gets up at 5am. For some reason his alarm clock never seems to work, so Jeremy or I would have to go upstairs and have him get out of bed ... this was getting very annoying! Finally one day Austin's alarm clock was going off at 5am ... too bad it was SATURDAY!! Now, the funniest part of this story has yet to come. Yesterday Austin was up and ready to wait for his ride ... only it was not 5:30am it was 4:30am!! His clock had the wrong time on it and he got up at 4am and did not notice the "real" time until he was already ready at 4:30am!! Today, his alarm went off at the right time and he got up and ready on his own :-) Hopefully this is how it will go for the rest of his seminary days.

IT IS A GIRL!!

September 2, 2010. Today was the day that we would all find out if we were having a boy or a girl. My sister Amie came and got Kaden and Landon. The other 5 boys were at school. When Amie took Kaden, he told her, “ I cannot stay at your house for a long time, my mom is having a baby and I need to go home.” Four hours after they had left our baby arrived. Kaden was right all along!! We had our little Sarah!! She finally came!! She was here and healthy!! The moment was undescriable. I love all my babies, but this time it was different. I called my sister, Amie and asked to talk to Kaden. When he got on the phone and I said, “Kaden, I had the baby.” His reponse, “Okay I am coming!!” and he gave Amie the phone. She asked him, “Did your mom have a boy or girl?” He pointed his finger at her and said, “IT IS A GIRL!” Amie got back on the phone and asked, “Did you really have a girl?” I replied, “Yes, but I never told Kaden that.” She said, “Okay, we are coming over now. Kaden is getting his shoes on.” When Kaden got home and saw his little Sarah he said, “See I knew it was girl.” He is so proud and protective of her already.

Best Restaurant!!

Last night at dinner Parker asked Jeremy, "How much would it cost to buy the best restaurant in the whole world?" Jeremy told him he was not sure. Then Payton said, "I know what restaurant it is, McDonalds!! Parker replied, "No, it is Wendys!!" Funny, I never considered either of those to be "the best restaurant in the whole world!"

Six is not a lot....

Tonight Adrion and some of the other boys were watching a show. One of the commercials was for the Brady Bunch on DVD. As they were watching it, Adrion says, "They are suppose to have a lot of kids, but they only have six. Six is not a lot."

Cats and Dogs

While we were staying at our friend's Ranch in Voca, Texas, we were able to play with many animals. One of which was a black and white Pomeranian dog. While Kaden was playing with her she started to bark. Somewhat confused, Kaden looks at me and says, "Why does that cat bark like a dog?" It took him a while to realize that she really was a dog....LOL!!

Baldness

Yesterday, Kaden was looking at the top of Jeremy's head and asked, "Dad how come your hair fell off of here and is on your chest now?"

Seriously, where did that kid come from?!?!? He makes us laugh ALL the time!

"Totally Fat!"

This morning after Payton ate some Cap'n Crunch he said, "I am not going to eat Cap'n Crunch anymore!" Adrion asked him, "Why?" Payton replied, "Because, I was reading it and it said that is was totally fat!"

HA!HA! What he thought said, "totally fat" was "total fat." Too funny!!

Homebirth

Today a friend of mine told me a funny story. She went on a school field trip with Payton's class to the Log Cabin Museum earlier in the school year. While they were there the workers told them all about being pioneers. One of the stories was about how babies were born at home. The man said that now everyone is born in a hospital. He looked right at Payton and asked, "What hospital were you born in?" Payton's response was, "I was born at home." The man then said, "Of course I picked the one that was born at home!"

Adventures!

While we were at Sea World yesterday, there was one ride that our entire family could go on...Texas Splash down. It is a log ride. So, we all went on it. Kaden was very excited since it was the only ride he was tall enough to go on. Kaden, Adrion, Parker and I were in a log together. As we started the ride Kaden was full of excitement. We started to go up, up, up....as we were going up Kaden said, "We are going on an adventure!" Still with excitement in his voice. Then we got to the top and went down, down, down, down...Kaden started to cry and wanted to get off. I calmed him down and he somewhat enjoyed the rest of the ride. Once we went down the last two little drops and I told him the ride was over, he then said, "I do NOT want to go on another adventure!"

Later that night, we went on the Texas Splash Down again, but Kaden refused to go and stated again, "I am NOT going on an adventure!"

Birthday Powers

Yesterday was Payton's 8th birthday!! I went to his class at school to bring birthday treats. While I was there Payton came up to me and told me, "Mom, during break I could catch the football really good today! I think it is because it is my birthday." To be 8 years old again ;-)

Apples and Libraries

Yesterday Payton's 2nd grade class went on a field trip. Before they went, Payton was telling me all about the "Apple" store they were going to. He said "there are all types of apples there." And he also said, "we are going to use a computer to see how the "apples" are made!" I tried to tell him that an "Apple" was actually a brand of computer. He did NOT believe me.He thought it was a store full of apples you eat! After he came home he was very excited about this "Apple" store. He got to play on an iPad, make his own website and see some cool gadgets. He then told me I was right about it being a computer store. Then he went on tell me about this "huge library". He thought it was the best library ever! You can even buy food there and he got to have a hot chocolate! He really wants to go there again. This library is also known as "Barnes and Noble." After the "Apple store and the Library" it was on to the movie theater to see Disney's "Ocean". He enjoyed that too, but was a little worn out since he fell asleep towards the end of the movie! All in all he had a great day!

The Crash

Yesterday a drunk guy crashed through our backyard brick fence. None of us were hurt since we were in the house. After the police, firemen, ambulance, tow truck were gone, my dad (who had come over) went out back to check it out. Before that all my boys watched as everyone did there jobs at the scene of the accident. They even watched the man get handcuffed and put in the police car. So, back to my dad in the backyard. While he was out there Kaden says, "Grandpa is outside and he is gonna catched." (Meaning that the police would take grandpa away too.) He did not quite understand what was going on out there. But we explained to him that the man that was "catched" was a bad man and that grandpa was okay out there.

Movie Time

This post is not what anyone said, but what they did. Last night Avery, Adrion, Payton, Parker and Kaden wanted to watch a movie. So I told them that they needed to agree on a movie to watch. While Avery, Adrion, Payton and Parker were trying to figure out what movie they could all agree on, Kaden picked out his own movie, put it in the DVD player and started watching it. The other boys still had not picked a movie and started watching what Kaden put on. I thought it was pretty funny! I guess all you have to do around here is put on the movie you want to watch while everyone else is trying to agree upon a movie :-) Kaden has learned early in life how to get what he wants...lol.

Father Time == Unix Geek

Here is one right out of Jeremy's journal.

Avery told me he saw "father time" at a Unix meeting I lectured at (long ago). Then he asked: "were they really old or just sat at the the computer all day so never got haircuts?"

Kadenism....

Okay, I should've called this blog, "The Things That Kaden Says!"

Today, Kaden was looking in the fridge and says "Mom, there are boogers in the fridge!" I said, "No there is not Kaden, that is gross." Then he pulls out the jar of pickle relish and says, "YES THERE IS BOOGERS IN THE FRIDGE!!" The funniest part is that he was SO serious!!

Target and Jesus

On Friday I went to Target with Kaden and Landon. As we were shopping, we passed by the toy section. Kaden says "Bakugan is my favorite toy in the whole world." I said to him, "Where did you come from?" He thought I was talking about the Bakugan and he said, "It is right over there." Then I said, "No, where did YOU come from?" Not really expecting an answer. I just thought he was so funny. Then Kaden said, "I came from Jesus, out of your tummy." Wow, how precious was that.

Kaden and Landon

Kaden was sitting by Landon and said, "Landon is hot." I told him that Landon is sick and has a fever. Kaden's response was, "Oh, Landon has a hot fever and I have a cold fever."
