The Things My Kids Say....

November 4, 2009

Today I took Kaden and Landon to the Fort Worth Zoo. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shinning and it was 77 degrees. We met our friends, the Lees there. While we were at the zoo, we saw lots of animals. When we got to the lion, who was in an exibit all by himself, Kaden said, “where are all of his brothers?” He is so smart and funny! Then at dinner that evening we were talking about our day at the zoo with everyone, Kaden told his brothers that while at the zoo he saw “King Kong”. Of course he was refrering to the gorillas. That kid makes me laugh more then anyone!

Kaden came into our bathroom today wearing his church clothing and some orange swimming googles. He then said “how come your bathroom is orange?” He is SO funny. He knew why it was orange. It just amazes me at how whitty he is.

Kaden was playing in the entryway and all of the sudden he just blurts out, “we should have another baby. Yep, we should have another baby!” This is something Jeremy and I have been talking about. I guess this just confirms that it is time.

Payton told me some funny stuff a few minutes ago. His name is pronounced PAY-TEN, but spelled PAY-TON. I guess his primary teacher, Bro. Hadley has been calling him PAY-TON. I told Payton that he should just tell him how to pronounce it. Payton said that he did. So then I said, oh, Bro. Hadley is just teasing you? Payton said, yes. Then he told me that they had a lesson on not calling people names and to just call someone by their real name. Payton told Bro. Hadley that it makes him mad when people call him PAY-TON. So Bro. Hadley does not call him PAY-TON anymore. Then I asked Payton who his other primary teacher is and he said, “ I think he got kicked out.” I replied, “What???” I asked Payton his name and he told me it was Bro. Flores. Then I told Payton that he did not get kicked out, he just is teaching the Young Men now. Funny stuff that goes on in the mind of a 7 year old!

We took Kaden to the dentist today. While we were on vacation last week he injured his mouth. We were in the Petrified Forest/Painted Desert on Saturday in Northern Arizona when he fell and hit his face on petrified wood. It is harder than a rock. There was a lot of blood and it was very scary. We were on a hike and about 20 minutes from the Ranger station and about 2 hours from a hospital. Anyways. Once we got to the hospial, we decided to talk with our dentist and they said to just bring him in on Monday. So, we did and we told Kaden we were taking him to the dentist so they could fix his teeth. When he fell he chipped his front tooth, that already was halfway chipped off already from him falling on the tile two years previous, and he also knocked his other front tooth towards the back of his mouth. His top teeth go behind his bottom teeth. So the dentist said to wait a month and see what happens, but they will most likely have to pull it. As I was putting Kaden in the car after we saw the dentist, he says, “Hey, he did not fix my teeth!” Poor kid.

Today it is snowing in Keller, Texas. When Kaden woke up this morning, I asked him if he looked outside yet. He said, no. I told him to look out the window. When he did he said, “There is snow on my truck? That's awesome!” He is hillarious I tell ya.

Today Kaden was playing with our wooden Nativity and while he was playing he was singing his own made up song that went like this.... “Christmas Tree, Christmas Tree, Christmas Tree, I Love You!" Repeated several times. Too cute.

Today I went to the bank. I had Kaden and Landon in the car, so I went thru the drive. When we pulled up, Kaden says “Is this McDonalds?” I said, “No, we are at the bank. I am going to get some money.” Once I completed my transaction and started to leave, Kaden says, “Did you get it?” I replied, “Yes.” Then he says, “You got the food?” I started laughing and said, “No, this is the bank, I got the money!” Too funny!!
